Some Character Work

In preparation for a full scale comic I've been doing many things. Firstly, I was trying to think of a title. And now I have a title, although I doubt you will understand the reference. "One Is Silver"
In Girl Scouts, back when I was small, we had a song we sang about making new friends but keeping the old: "One is Silver, and the other's Gold." Since friendship will be a theme in this comic/story and since the lyrics allude to the titles of the games themselves (Silver and Gold), I thought it was perfect. I hope you like it to.

The other thing I've been working on is my characters. Drawing isn't something I claim to be fantastic at so I've been practicing a lot. Like I promised last week, I have character sheets to show you! I hope this will help you, the reader, get to know the character a little better. At least visually. I'm only posting four because Eva the Skarmory and Jade the Tyranitar will not be joining us yet. Each sheet also has three adjectives to describe each of the characters I drew.

Tabletop Spotlight: King of Tokyo

Welcome back, ladies and gents, to another edition of Tabletop Spotlight. Due to demands on my time in the real world and the busy holiday season, I will be transitioning my posts to a biweekly schedule, still on Tuesdays. I promise to make the wait worth it! :)

Today’s spotlight shines upon a newer game that’s out, and really causing a commotion! It was featured most recently on Wil Wheaton’s “Table Top” youtube series, and it was an instant favorite for me when it came out in 2011. Head for the hills, because today we’re talking about King of Tokyo.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Elephant.

To illustrate the way ideas travel through art from one mind to another, I drew an Elephant and sent it to Toonsem, for him to reflect on breifely, and then draw another elephant inspired by him.

My Perfect, Lovely Silicon Wife (NSFW?)

About a year ago, I bought my ex-wife for $8000. Most silicon dolls are $5000 ready-mades, but I wanted her to be perfect. I’ll humbly admit that I have high standards. So shelling out an extra $3000 for a custom-designed face, hair and torso was absolutely essential. Face #34 was close to what I desired, but I paid extra to personalize her features. Even the “premium” ready-mades such as Jessie (you have to pay an extra $500 for her “athletic body”) and Elena (her “sumptuous torso” makes her the most popular item on the site) couldn’t meet my expectations. True love is not a bargain, after all.

It took only a few clicks of the mouse to customize her appearance exactly to my liking. Ethnicity: Caucasian. Features: diamond shaped face, green eyes, small pointed nose, sharply defined lips, blonde hair. Measurements: 37/23/35 (a plentiful bosom). Height: 5’6”. Tattoos/piercings: none. And like that, she was ready to be built and shipped to my address.

A taste of things to come

My plan was to have some character sheets up today to help get you, the reader, a little more oriented with the characters. Life happens so I've made a lot of progress but they still aren't finished. That said, I didn't want to leave you guys empty handed this Thursday! So here's a sneak peek at the kind of stuff you'll be seeing from me soon. If I get them done this weekend I'll post them!
